"Loan or not, this is your brother's big day.Stop crying and making a scene!"Nathan's dad glared at Sarah.
"Dad,when we bought the house, you called me the most sensible girl, the sweetest daughter ever. Now thatI’m no longer useful to you,I'm a nuisance?"Sarah sobbed, her eyes red.
Seeing Sarah like this tugged at my heart, but remembering her scheming against me,I couldn't sympathize. She herself got wet in the rain so now she wanted to ruin my umbrella.Pitiful, but despicable nevertheless.

"Sarah,at a time like this, you're not helping Nathan—you're turning against him!"Nathan's mom piled on.
"Emma,I'll be honest.We never got along,but I'm glad you're sharp enough not to marry into this family.If you get a chance,get a full checkup,"Sarah said,hesitating.
"Enough!Emma, are you marrying him or not?"Nathan's patience was totally gone now.
"Definitely not.A scumbag like you deserves to be single,"I retorted.
"Don't get cocky,Emma. In a few days, you'll com back to me, crawling and begging me to forgive you!"Nathan suddenly laughed.
"Yeah?Well,we'll see if you’re right when the world ends,"I said, storming out.

Good thing my parents weren't there—they would have been livid.I called them, saying that dinner was canceled, and told them to get on their own thing.
A week later,I understood what Nathan meant by those mean words.Sarah's comment advising me to do a checkuo made sense.
I was pregnant.I had always opposed premarital pregnancy,so I insisted that Nathan should use protection everytime.
For a year, nothing happened, but now I was pregnant?Nathan must've tampered with the condoms. No wonder he was so eager to sleep over lately, tracking my cycle.

He planned to trap me with a kid!
That jerk!If he thought a baby would force me to comply,he was dead wrong.I tossed the pregnancy test in the trashcan and called my best friend who worked at a hospital to book an appointment at OB-GYN.But when I stepped outside, there was scumbag Nathan downstairs.
"Emma,I missed you so much!"The bastard tried to hug me.I shoved him off.
"What are you doing here? We're done.Stop showing up and disgusting me!"I said, heading to my car.
"Huh,still playing pure? You've got my kid in your stomach, and you won't admit it?"Nathan leered at my stomach.
I froze. How did he know?"Come on,I'll take you for a checkup. If you want,we can get the license this afternoon,"Nathan said, grinning as he opened his car door.
"Emma,I was wrong to spend all the money. My mom says you're carrying the Brooks heir. She'll pay for a grand wedding to welcome you into our family properly!"
Nathan kept trying to deceive me with this rosy picture of our future ahead."Let's not talk about wedding Now.How'd you know I'm pregnant? You’re a psychic now?"I pretended to forgive him, fishing for answers.
"Silly girl,if I had that power,I'd be reading fortunes.I was worried about you alone,so I installed cameras in your place,"Nathan said, all noble.
I had lived alone since starting work.My parents bought me a small apartment nearby.
I hadd brought Nathan over a few times. When did he install the cameras?Even after we broke up,he was still spying on me.A total creep.
A top student pulling this lowlife stunt?I excused myself to make a call and reported him to the police.
When the cops arrived,Nathan was still whining about"keeping me safe."Yeah,right.
