Chapter 7

"Vic, it really is you. How could you treat me this way?

After everything I sacrificed for you—this is how you repay me?"

Victor sneered and kicked me savagely.

"Sacrifices? Don't flatter yourself. Your pathetic act is over!

Confess now or face fraud charges that will bury you."

I maintained my facade of innocent confusion as a familiar voice suddenly echoed through the foyer.

"Little Sui! You're alive after all! You've had your poor family worried to death!"

Right on schedule.

While the Sinclairs stood frozen in confusion, I slipped among the newcomers.

"Auntie, since you're so concerned, perhaps you should stay here.

The Sinclair mansion has plenty of room for Victor's real family."

I suggested helpfully as Victor's adoptive relatives began handling priceless antiques and eyeing artwork with undisguised greed.

"Careful with those—each piece is worth millions!"

My words only intensified their excitement, avarice gleaming in their eyes.

"Little Sui! These trinkets are worth millions?

I couldn't earn that in ten lifetimes!

I didn't realize rich folks just casually..." Several began pocketing smaller items while others gripped vases possessively.

"STOP THIS AT ONCE!

Who let these vulgar people in? GET OUT! ALL OF YOU!"

Eleanor Sinclair's shriek echoed off the marble, her composure finally shattered.

Victor's adoptive family stood their ground.

A Ming dynasty vase shattered as they defiantly planted themselves on the imported rugs.

"We're not going anywhere! What are you going to do—call the police?"

"We raised your precious son for twenty years! We deserve compensation—just a few hundred million. Pocket change for people like you!"

Victor's face contorted with disgust, his refined mask slipping completely.

"You'll get nothing! Get these peasants out of my house!"

I sighed dramatically, my voice carrying through the chaos.

"They say blood is thicker than water, but some wolves forget who raised them.

What a tragedy that all your sacrifices meant nothing to him!"

My words ignited a firestorm as Victor's adoptive parents wailed theatrically, threatening self-harm while hurling vicious curses at the Sinclairs.

"Ungrateful snake! The moment you found your rich parents, you threw us away like garbage!

We changed your diapers, nursed your fevers—we should have left you in that dumpster where we found you!

Pretending to be poor while secretly being rich, taking advantage of simple country folk..."

Their relatives, under the guise of mediation, expertly escalated tensions while others ran outside to invite neighbors to witness the Sinclairs' humiliation.
