Chapter 62

"My apologies Miss. Wright. Maybe this is an issue you should sort out with Mr. Sax himself."
"Thank you." I hung up and exhaled heavily. I couldn't believe the bastard would stoop so low, but after all, it was his money and he was entitled to do whatever he pleases, but if he assumed that that would make me come crawling back to him then he was mistaken.
Nothing was going to make me crawl back to that snake. Not even a baby.
I started silently praying for my menstrual flow to occur as soon as possible.

Later that evening, Jason and I were sitting in the living room. I was helping him with his spellings and art homework when the doors to the front entrance of the mansion were yanked open and shut with a loud slam behind her.
"So it's true, huh? You are here. In my house. With my man!" Adobi started.
"Adobi. Hi. I'm sure Jevan explained what had happened..."
"I don't care about what happened to you. Quite frankly, you deserve every bad thing that ever happened to you! This is my life! Not yours! You think I don't see what you're trying to do here?"
"Jason, go to your room," I calmly told my son.
"Okay mommy." He picked up his homework and left to his bedroom.
"Adobi, I'm not here to disrupt your life with Jevan," I told the hostile woman.
"Liar! I can see it in your eyes that you want him back. I can see you want an actual family with my man but I've got news for you. It's too late for that. You're nothing but a washed up ex-girlfriend from high school who just happened to become the mother of his child."
"Your anger is understandable because if I were in your shoes, I'd be threatened too," I confidently responded.
"Excuse me! You think I'm threatened by you?"
"Well isn't this what the entire ruckus is about, Adobi?"
"You've got some nerve to come into my home with all that crap. It ends today. Because you're leaving!"
"Adobi..."
She manoeuvred pass me with her luggage and made a beeline to the guest bedroom I was occupying.
As she opened the door, she halt and began sniffing the air like a hound.
"Jevan was in here!" she yelled.
"He checked in on me this morning before he left to HT," I told her.
"Liar! You slept with him!"
"Not last night," I wanted to tell her but I held my tongue.
"I want you out. Jason I can tolerate but not you," she told me once again.
"Fine. I'll leave," I responded and started gathering up my belongings.
~
I called Nina so she can come get me.
A vehicle arrived after twenty minutes and I started to the door.
Jevan walked in.
He caught wind of me and my packed belongings and Adobi with her folded arms across the living room.
"Where are you going?" he asked me.
"I'm leaving. I really don't want to cause any problems between the two of you," I told him.
"You're not going anywhere."
"She's not what? Jevan, how can you be so inconsiderate of me? Your ex girlfriend and your fiancée under the same roof isn't the ideal family! I want her out!"
"She has been abused. Bruised and battered! She doesn't have anywhere to go or anyone to protect her!" Jevan yelled.
"What about the police, huh? Why didn't she file a complaint and slap a restraining order against Hunter?"
"Since when has that ever worked against Hunter? You of all people should know that!"
"Jevan, she can't stay here. I'm not okay with that!"
"She's not leaving. I'm not okay with that!"
"Why the hell is she so important to you, huh?"
"She's the mother of my son! You think I want Jason growing up without his mom!"
"Blossom isn't a handicap. She needs to take responsibility for her own life. What is she going to do when she no longer has you to lean on?"
"Jevan, she's right. I need to stand on my own two feet. I can't always look to you for support but I do appreciate everything you've done. Everything," I whispered the final word in his ear as he hugged me.
"Are you sure you'll be okay? Where are you going?"
"I'll be at Nina's until I can get a place of my own. Oh, I'll go talk to Jason before I leave."

Jevan's POV
I looked on as she went to find Jason, shared a loving moment with him and got into Nina's car when she finally came to get her.
I didn't say a word afterwards. I went into my bedroom, threw my briefcase aside and got undressed. I went into the shower.
"Baby, are you mad at me?" Adobi asked, stepping into the shower when I was almost through.
I refused to answer.
"So you are mad. Jevan, I did that for us. How would you feel if I help my ex-boyfriend?"
"I'm not insecure. If you help someone you knew since high school and the two of you share a child together, why would I try to get in the way of you helping him?"
"Even if he's living under the same roof as you? Answer me this. Since she was here, has it ever crossed your mind what it would be like to have her back in your life?"
"To be honest, yes," I responded.
Adobi's face fell. "Jevan, what's going to happen between us?"
"I don't know," I answered.
"Oh my God. Are you still in love with her? Is she going to take you away from me?"
"Adobi, stop it!"
"Jevan. I love you. I can't lose you. We've been through almost everything together. How can you make her slip back into our lives and ruin it?"
"Blossom isn't ruining anything! You're just blowing things out of proposition like you usually do. You need help."
