"You should talk to the School's principal. They could have some consideration of moms doing the job of a father."

"You're so right."

After asking Mr. Collinwood for an early release from work, I went to Jason's school to speak with the principal.

"Miss. Wright, we do plead with the single parents and you yourself can take Jason to the dance. We just don't wish to make it uncomfortable for Jason as the other children would have their fathers present," Principal Tillman explained.

"I can assure you that my son wouldn't be uncomfortable. It's been just the two of us ever since the beginning."

"Don't mind me asking, but where is Jason's father? Does he even know that his son exists?"

"Of course he knows. He's just... he's unable to do his father duties," I said.

"Miss Wright, I don't wish to tell you how to raise your child but young boys like Jason needs a male role model to look up to. Someone to pave the way for them."

"My son would be just fine. Thanks for your concern."

I collected Jason from his classroom and we went home.

______

"Guess what, I'm taking you to the dance," I told him. We were having his favourite snack and watching his favourite cartoons.

"You're a girl. It's a father-son dance," he pouted.

"Moms can be dads too, Jason," I told him but he wasn't impressed.

"Can your friend take me?" he asked.

"Hunter is out of the country and he wouldn't be back until after the dance."

"What about your other friend?"

"What other friend?"

"The one who came over and you couldn't stop smiling after he left. And  I heard you say you wanted to kiss his...."

"Okay! Okay! Maybe he can take you, but he runs a big company so I'm not sure."

"Please ask him if he can take me. Please mommy?"

"I'll ask him."

I didn't have Jevan's current phone number so that meant I'll have to ask him in person which also meant that I'll have to go to Hollen Tower to do so.

The next day, I collected Jason from school as usual and we went to Hollen Tower.

"Wanna play batman?" I asked Jason as we went to the elevator.

"Yes!"

"Put these on." I handed him my pair of dark sunglasses.

We reached Jevan's floor and his assistant informed him of us being there.

In less than a minute, he appeared in front of us.

"Hi," he greeted with a smile.

"Hi. I'm batman," Jason said, causing Jevan to laugh.

"Hey, sorry to bother you at work but I need a huge favour," I started.

"What's up?"

"Jason's school is having a father-son dance and he doesn't want to go with me. He wants a male figure. Can you please take him on Friday afternoon?"

"Of course I will," he answered, "Hey buddy, we're going to have a blast," he finished and dropped to Jason's level for a high-five.

Jason's sunglasses was about to fall off as a result of being too big but I quickly fixed it and pulled him away.

"Thanks, we'll be going now. Don't wish to take up too much of your time."

We dismissed ourselves with a wave a goodbye.

Jevan's POV

I couldn't wait for Friday afternoon. I was rather eager to take Jason to his father-son dance.

"Hey baby," Adobi greeted, walking into my office.

"Hey babe, I wasn't expecting you. What brings you here?"

"The wedding planner was selected and I can't wait to you to meet her. I've arranged an afternoon dinner for the three of us on Friday afternoon."

"Friday? This Friday?"

"Yes."

"Fuck!" I mentally cussed.

Jevan's POV

My fingers drummed on the desk top as I watched the time skip by on my Rolex.

It was Friday and I had a decision to make. Would I take Jason to his dance or join my fiancee's afternoon dinner with the wedding planner?

I almost leaped from my own skin when the door was pushed open unannounced.

In walked Adobi with an extra cheerful smile plastered on her face.

"Baby, I couldn't wait for us to meet Gabrielle. She's one of the best wedding planner in L.A. She even plans wedding for celebrities. I'm certain you'll like her," she babbled on.

"I'm sure I will, but something came up and I won't be able to make it," I broke it to her.

"Something more important than our wedding?" Her cheerful was swept away.

"I'm sorry," I apologised.

"Jevan, is there something you're not telling me? Is there something you wish to get off your chest because I'm really starting to believe that you don't want to get married to me. Why are you making excuses after excuses to get away from the preparations of our big day? Tell me!"

"Adobi, I know this is frustrating..."

"You don't know what frustrating is!" she yelled and tears slipped from her eyes. "I went through all this trouble to get a high-end wedding planner and you can't even show up for one fucking meal?"

She was livid. She even pushed me away when I tried to huge her and she stormed out of the office afterwards.

I raked my fingers through my hair and went to my office shower, took a bath, changed into a casual outfit from the wardrobe and went to get Jason.

The feeling in the pit of my stomach was unexplainable when I knocked on Blossom's apartment door, but I knew I was happy with what I was doing for Jason.

After a few more seconds, Blossom appeared.

"Come on in. Thank you so much for coming," she said and allowed me to enter. "Jason! Jevan is here!"she called.

"I'm in the kitchen. I want chips!" he called back.

"No chips, Jason. Get out here!"Blossom demanded.

I was certain Jason was pouting from where he was. I went to the kitchen and found him with folded arms.
