"Feline, can we go faster?" Laura asked as the assassin's wagon came closer to theirs. Evgeni looked behind at the wagon, "They have almost reached us," Avgustin said.

Suddenly, there was a sharp turn and the wagon upturned. They all lay in the snow while the other wagon stopped and the assassin came out of it with a silver dagger in his hand.

"No, Evgeni run!" Laura shouted. She, Avgustin and the coachman lay under the wagon while Evgeni fell out of it. He got up and began running in the blizzard. The assassin followed him with a dagger in his hand. Evgeni ran for a while but then got tired and turned back.

The assassin slit his throat and he fell on the snow. He couldn't see his face in the dark. He tried to shout but the voice didn't come out of his neck and the snow turned red as the blood left his throat. He left and the snow-covered Evgeni slowly. He got buried under it as he healed.

Meanwhile, Laura and Avgustin ran away in the wagon and the assassin couldn't catch them. Either way, his job to kill Evgeni was completed so he didn't put much effort to find the witnesses. Laura cried as she sat inside the wagon, "How could you just leave Evgeni there?"

"So, should I have waited so that he killed us too?"

  "Use my powers!"

"And blow up the entire town? Why didn't you use your powers yourself?!"

  "Because you know I can't!"

"Then sit quietly, we'll go find him tomorrow morning. He can't die, he's a demigod."

Evgeni lay buried under the snow for the entire night. The next morning, a royal carriage passed through the road. Queen Regina saw a hand in the snow, "Stop the carriage," They walked towards the snow. "Clear the snow."

The coachman removed the snow and found Evgeni, laying in the cold. His body was cold and his neck had healed. The blood had dried.

"There's a boy here!" Queen Regina checked his pulse.

"He's alive! Oh dear, quickly, call for a doctor," They took Evgeni with them to the castle and showed them to the doctor. The doctor was surprised that he survived. He regained consciousness and looked at the doctor.

"Hello son, how do you feel now?" The doctor asked. Evgeni slowly got up from his bed, "Who are you?"

"I'm doctor Christen. What about you?"

"I am..." Evgeni thought for a while, "I--" He pressed his head, "I don't know,"

"Do you remember where you are from?" Evgeni shook his head.

"Any memory? Of who you might be?" Evgeni shook his head again.

The doctor came out of his room, "It seems that he doesn't remember anything about his past."

"Can we do anything to help him,"

"Just wait till it returns. Ask him about his likes or dislikes, anything that makes him think or peep into his memory. We will start amnesia therapy soon."

Queen Regina and King Sirus stood outside his room and peeped at him through the crack of the door. The maids gave him a warm bath and washed his clothes.

"We found this, your highness," One of the maids gave the pendant they found around his neck to the queen.

They looked at his pendant, "Evgeni,"

"Perhaps that is his name," Regina said. Sirus looked at his dried up clothes, "His clothes are made of pure silk. He must be from an affluent family. We should contact the police."

"No, it might be God's gift to us since we don't have children. You do need a crown prince after all. Let's keep Evgeni with us."

"But Regina, his parents must be worried. This isn't right,"

"And us not having kids is? I'll raise him like my own child. We are finally blessed with happiness, Sirus. Let's not put it away."

They did not give amnesia therapy to him because they didn't want him to remember his past and ask to go back to his real parents. Evgeni lay on the bed and looked at his pendant in the evening. The queen entered his room and kissed his forehead.

  "What are you thinking?"

Evgeni looked into his eyes, "Miss--"

"Call me mom,"

"Miss mom, can you sing for me?"

"I don't know how to sing. I'm completely tone-deaf." She chuckled.

  Evgeni looked at the window.

  "Evgeni?"

"I remember a song," He got down from the bed and walked towards the window. He started singing.

"You sing beautifully, totally unlike your mother,"

He turned back and looked at her, "You are not my mother,"

The queen seemed sad, "Someday, I will," She smiled.
