Chapter 73 Not A Lot But Just A Little

Vierne walked on the cold snow. Her necklace was covered by her coat and touched her chest, right next to her heartbeat. She stood before the gate and asked the guards to return the book to Evgeni. That morning, Evgeni had received a letter from Khimki, Moscow. It was the exam date sheet. He talked to his parents about the letter.

You are going back to school? His mother asked while the violinists played a duet in the dining hall.

I am still left with my exams. Evgeni ate his food while Lobelia stood behind him.

After you graduate highschool, please take over your duties, son. Your mother and I are planning for a vacation for us. His father said.

I will,

Do you need seconds, your majesty? The maid asked.

No, I'm full. They took away the plates before him.

Where was Vierne going again? He whispered to Lobelia.

Moscow, Lobelia answered.

Isn't that pleasant? He cleaned his hands with a cloth and got up, I shall leave now,

Safe journey, son. His mother kissed his forehead. He got inside a private jet with Lobelia and a few servants who carried his luggage. The plane took off for his destination. He looked at Gate in his hands, 'Let's meet again, Vierne Obolensky,'

Akagi and the others had just returned to Moscow that night when Melissa and Lict said together, A blank space!

It's a union, Lict told them. A parade union was when many demigods worked together to defeat a common enemy, I can feel the auras of at least fifty demigods in there,

  That's a lot! Vierne said.

I don't care. We'll go, Akagi said and they were suddenly engulfed inside a magnanimous pink window. They found themselves inside the Astral world—Blank space.

They were already surrounded by about 100 people, half of them were demigods, the other half were star spirits. Akagi shot Melissa in her head while Vierne stabbed Lict on his chest. It seemed to be a signal to start the fight. As the pacts were formed, all the other demigods ran towards them.

Melissa! Vyzov forma dva! Akagi shouted and Melissa turned into an axe and he grabbed it.

Lict! Magixiya chetvernoy, Orfografii pervyy, Vyzov forma Odin, Vivana musica, syndica And Lict rose his hands. Many golden chains emerged out of the ground and wrapped around everyone's feet. His shoes glowed purple, Magixiya dvoynoy, Orfografii v tret'ikh, Vyzov forma Odin! And he made a sword from his first magic.

Did she just say Magixiya chetvernoy?

He's an elite! Lict and Akagi smirked and ran towards them. Vierne just stood and watched. Someone attacked her from behind. He grabbed her hand and got shredded into pieces.

  Oh my God!

Vierne smiled, Who else wants to play chop-chop?

Akagi was fast as he ran across the battlefield. He chopped away everyone who came in his way. Lict seemed good at sword fighting too while Vierne just hopped here and there touching people. Everyone ran away from her and she ran towards them.

Lict and Akagi stood with their backs touching each other, Isn't this fun? Akagi asked.

I shouldn't be enjoying this, Lict chuckled.

But you are, They ran in opposite directions.

Lict! Magixiya chetvernoy, Orfografii vtoroy, Vyzov forma Odin! The golden walls appeared around everyone and who touched it—shredded to pieces. They closed upon them leaving behind stardust and blood.

What do you say? Vierne turned towards Akagi. He thrust his hands into his pocket,

I'm out of cigarettes. White smoke soon covered the place and a huge pink window appeared again. As they passed through it, they were back to the real world. Akagi took a packet of cigarettes and lit one.

Lord Akagi, how did I do? Vierne asked.

Melissa, He ignored her. Did you recognise their clothes?

It was the lab's uniform,

They were from the lab, Akagi said. Vierne was still confused about what this lab was, They are getting new newbie students and sending them in such dangerous parades.

I don't understand why the hell are humans interfering with parades—Like just let us be! Melissa seemed mad.

We need to stop the lab. He exhaled some smoke.

What is this lab? Vierne asked.

Like we have Escola Royal School of Supernatural in Estes, the lab is the name of a school for supernatural students in Khimki, Moscow. It stands for Lvans Ablution School of Supernatural.

I thought Escola was the only school of the supernatural.

Escola is the best among all the schools of the supernatural. The lab is more like an underground dungeon—Where your own classmates have every right to kill you.

  How do you know that?

I've completed my middle school at Lab. I will tell you—If there is hell on Earth, it might be Lab.

How did you get in there?

  I had connections.

  What?

My dad was a Chinese psychic like Aleksei—A student of Aleksei's grandfather. He was a mortal who could travel the Astral world, mom was the goddess of time. Dad's sister, aunt Siah, was crazy about dad's powers. She wanted to become a psychic too. You know, all humans have a psyche inside of them and if they want, they all can become psychics. But she couldn't do it because her psyche was too weak. She was jealous of my father who was the strongest psychic while she was the weakest. They were so different even after being born of the same womb. Dad was the head of the lab back then. They taught demigods about theory, practical music, mannerisms—Everything that you are taught.

Mom died when I was born. It was just me and dad after that. He raised me while looking after the school. Those were tough years of turmoil because dad was beginning to fall sick. Mom's death had affected him mentally and physically. He mostly forced a smile to make sure I wasn't aware of his suffering, but I had seen him crying. As my Sila surfaced on my body, my schooling started. Skorost was still growing and developing back then. Dad personally gave me lessons as I gave you. But he wasn't very patient—He wanted me to learn everything as fast I could.

I was always a precocious kid. He thought I didn't understand but I did see the desperation in his eyes. He wanted me to learn and grow up quickly because he didn't have much time with him. Aunt usually called the doctors for him and took me and the school under her. That's when I realised that I wasn't wanted. She would abuse me mentally and physically, not feed me, keep me locked inside the underground dorms of the school. I stayed like that for a year, without meeting my father.

When I was nine, dad called me to his room. I didn't say anything about how I was being treated because aunt Siah had threatened me that if I opened my mouth, she would kill my dad and me. I realised he had become a skeleton. It was just a layer of skin covering his bones. He looked very old and tired. He told me something, Akagi, you know you are a demigod. Demigods are superior beings. They aren't human. You aren't human. Don't expect people to treat you like one.

That's the last thing I heard from him while he still knew me. The next day, I went to visit him again, and he said he doesn't know who I was.

I don't have a son? He told me. I realised my Sila had turned back time for him. I decided not to go there again. After a month, I heard the news that he had passed away from the pain. That's when the real torture began. I was kept inside that dungeon for the next three years, without food or water. And my body went dormant since demigods can't die from starvation. I believed that people had forgotten about me.

When I was twelve, the doors of the dungeon opened and aunt Siah came inside to talk. She told me to fight some demigod prince of the royal family. He was learning to control his powers so I needed to help him with that. I refused and she stabbed me in my eyes. I hadn't eaten for very long so I had very less spirit energy. I couldn't heal my eye and then it became permanently damaged. They wrapped a bandage around my eye and took me to the fighting ring. Three years and no sun. I had foot deformities, red patches covered with white scales on my elbows, knees and lower back, and my eyes burnt as I stood under the sun. I ran away back in the shade and began crying because my whole body was hurting after standing under the sun.

Aunt grabbed me by my hair and threw me on the sizzling concrete ground, under the sun. I thought I was going to die. I had developed psoriasis. Nobody cared. I wish they did, not a lot but just a little
